The UniversityTown Northampton project is funded by Northampton Borough Council, Northamptonshire County Council, West Northamptonshire Development Corporation, Arts Council England and the University of Northampton.
The project aims to work with a range of interested parties to generate a higher level vision for the future of the town. The relocation of the University into the town centre is one of the Midlands largest construction projects for decades and the focus for studies around waste and energy, built environment and ecology, social innovation and cultural industries. The relocation will offer students, staff and residents new learning and teaching experiences. Engaging a wide range of stakeholders will prepare for the relocation and the changes it will bring for those studying and working in the town.
Urban Design support is provided by TransForm Places, a not-for-profit organisation devoted to better neighbourhoods.
Project management is provided by OPUN, East Midlands Architecture Centre.
